YOUR TEACHING STYLE HAS AN IMPACT ON STUDENT LEARNING

DIFFERENT TEACHERS PERCEIVE THE CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT IN DIFFERENT WAYS.

STUDENTS ARE ABLE TO PICK UP ON ALL OF THEM.

When hired as Teacher Coaches or Educational Consultants, the general feedback we usually get or if you like, the number one necessity projected to us, is CHANGE. To help you through this transitional process we first of all, need to study, evaluate, observe and establish your teaching style(s) and method(s)

We do this via qualitative and quantitative research methods and once our data input is complete we would sit down with you and discuss our proposal. Proposals are obviously subject to individual needs but as a general norm our recommendations usually include new approaches related to:

  • Your classroom management
  • Your assessment criteria
  • Your critical thinking and problem solving means
  • Your lesson plan ideas
  • Your instructional time and how you manage it
  • Your goals and expectations
  • Your idea of homework
  • And last but not least your concept of the learning styles of your students

WHAT IS THE CHALLENGE FOR THE TEACHER?

We understand that the word "change" is not easy to hear or digest. We also realize that certain school policies are not in favor of hiring a Teacher Coach as they see no real reason for it. We´ve also been told by teachers that they didn´t actually know they were entitled to seek help aside from the assistance offered by their Head of Department or Head of Studies. A lot of teachers confessed they felt scared and embarrassed to even mention to their colleagues and superiors that they were experiencing problems in the classroom.

If you ever felt:

  • powerless in front of your class
  • not having enough time to do anything
  • not confident enough to speak in front of your class
  • disheartened and demotivated
  • in need of simple and effective classroom rules
  • in need of personalized attention and spot on solutions
  • lacking enthusiasm, spirit and positive thinking
  • and in general, like giving up

Well, take heart and accept help. After all, we´ve ALL BEEN THERE.
